2,000 Bikes Strong

Dodai’s Journey of Urban E-mobility Revolution and Innovation

We are thrilled to announce a major milestone at Dodai: 2,000 electric bikes are now officially on the streets of Ethiopia! This achievement isn’t just a number; it represents 2,000 individuals, commuters, and delivery professionals who have chosen a cleaner, smarter, and more economical way to move. As we celebrate this moment, we want to look back at the journey that brought us here—from our very first model to the revolutionary technology we lead with today.

The Foundation: Our Fixed-Battery Pioneers

Our mission began with a simple goal: prove that electric mobility works in the heart of Addis Ababa. This journey was paved by five foundational models:

H1

Our very first entry that started the electric revolution.

V3 & V3 Light

Models that brought sleek design and efficiency to the everyday rider.

HS & HS Light

High-performance bikes that pushed the boundaries of what fixed-battery technology could do.

These models proved that EVs could handle our terrain and our climate. They laid the groundwork for everything we learned about rider needs and urban endurance.

Dodai TS-1 battery swapping model

As the number of our riders grew, we realized that to truly transform the city, we needed to solve the “waiting game” of charging. While our earlier models relied on fixed batteries, we transitioned our focus toward the future of energy: Swapping.

The Dodai TS-1 battery swapping model represents this new era. By moving away from hours of plug-in charging and moving toward 60-second battery swaps, we’ve unlocked limitless potential for our riders. The TS-1 is currently our flagship, but it is only the beginning.

What’s Next?
Hitting 2,000 bikes is just the starting line. With the success of the TS-1, we are doubling down on our swapping infrastructure. We have more battery-swapping models currently in development, designed to meet the diverse needs of every Ethiopian rider.

To our 2,000 riders: Thank you for trusting Dodai. You aren’t just riding a bike; you’re leading a movement.
