Celebrating Our First rider to reach 100-Swap Milestone!

At Dodai, we don’t just build electric bikes; we build a new way of moving. Today, we are thrilled to celebrate a major landmark in our journey toward a greener Ethiopia. One of our dedicated riders, Afraksd Same, has officially become the first customer to reach 100 battery swaps using the Dodai TS-1! Taking him only 180 days to reach this milestone.

From Hesitation to Efficiency

Like many making the switch to electric, Afraksd initially wondered how integrated swapping would fit into a busy workday.

“My name is Afraksd Same, and I am a Dodai TS-1 user,” he shares. “When I first started, I was concerned that going to battery swapping stations would be a bit of a hassle for my time management. But actually, it helped me plan my day ahead and optimize my movement.”

Powering the Daily Grind

For high-capacity users, time is literally money. Afraksd often pushes his TS-1 to the limit, covering significant distances that would leave a standard petrol bike or a plug-in electric vehicle struggling to keep up.

“I ride up to 70 km a day, and sometimes even more than 100 km,” Afraksd explains. “Instead of waiting hours for a charge, the swapping option helps me save time and do more in a day. I have found it to be perfectly suited for my work.”

This milestone isn’t just a number. It represents thousands of kilometers driven without tailpipe emissions and proves that the “swap-and-go” model is the most reliable solution for Addis Ababa’s hardest workers.
